14 Places To Travel To When The Pandemic of COVID-19 Is OVER

If you are anything like me you are dreaming of the day when COVID-19 clears up, so you can see this beautiful world again! As I have been planning some of the places I want to visit, I have also been reminiscing on some of the incredible places I have been. Many of you have asked what my top destinations are and although it is so hard to choose, I have rounded up the 14 Places to travel to when the pandemic of COVID-19 is OVER!

1. Paris, France

Paris made the top of this list because you always miss Paris! Some of my favorite things to do there is to have a crepe picnic by the Eiffel Tower, visit the Louvre and see some of the most famous works of art, take a walk around the artistic Montmarte Street, see the Arc De Triumph, and eat all of the macaroons from Laduree!

2. Split, Croatia

Split, Croatia is one of my favorite places in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea! This gorgeous coastal city is so stunning and was one of the backdrops for GOT. Some of my trip highlights were the mystical blue caves on a boat tour, visiting Diocletian’s Palace, eating all the ice cream, and swimming in the stunningly blue water at Golden Horn Beach.

3. London, England

London is a place that feels like home. There are so many amazing surrounding cities that you must visit if you have the time! (Canterbury, York, Cambridge, Rochester, etc.) Some of my favorite things to do in London is walk on the bridge by Westminster and Big Ben, visit Buckingham Palace (you’ll know if the queen is inside if the flag is up), see the iconic Tower Bridge, visit the National Art Gallery, and end the day with a diet coke at Sky Garden where you can see the whole city all lit up at night!

4. Bali, Indonesia

Bali is one of my most favorite trips I have ever been on. There is so much to do! Visit the famous rice fields, go on the magical Bali Swing, play with monkeys at the monkey forest, visit the many stunning buildings and temples, have all the açai bowls, learn to surf in Kuta, and soak up the sun on the most amazing beaches.

5. Venice, Italy

Venice was such a beautiful place! Every street was filled with culture and every corner led to another stunning building. My trip highlights were going on a Venice famous gondola ride, eating all of the gelato and pizza, seeing the stunning Saint Mark’s Basilica, The Grand Canal, and the Bridge of Sighs.

6. Phuket, Thailand

Phuket, Thailand is a tropical paradise. I have been twice now and it never disappoints! Some of my favorite experiences are visiting Big Buddha Phuket for a really amazing cultural experience, climbing to the top of Tiger Kingdom, going on a catamaran in the ocean, spending the day walking the beaches, and eating all of the pineapple curry.

7. Prague, Czech Republic

Prague is truly one of the best well preserved European cities. It is one of my favorite places! The city itself is so pretty with adorable red roofing on almost every building. My trip highlights were visiting the Prague Castle, walking along Charles Bridge and through Old Town Square, visiting the Prague Astronomical Clock, and eating chocolate filled Trdelnik!

8. Cairo, Egypt

Visiting Egypt was always a dream of mine. It is such an interesting place and it truly was a dream to see all the sites that the history books are filled with. Some of my trip highlights were visiting the Pyramids of Giza and the Pyramid of Djoser, seeing the Salad Al-Din Castle, walking through the Coptic Quarters, and visiting The Egyptian Museum.

9. Budapest, Hungary

Budapest is one of Europe’s best kept secrets! This city was such a magical one for me. I have some of the fondest memories from there. Some of my trip highlights were seeing the Hungarian Parliament Building and Buda Castle, seeing all of the detail in Fisherman’s Bastion, going to the Szechenyi Thermal Bath, and eating custard filled croissants daily.

10. Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona is everything the Cheetah Girls hyped it up to be! I loved seeing La Sagrada Familia in real life, seeing the colorful tiles of Park Guell, spending the day in the Ciutadella Park, and visiting the Arco de Triunfo de Barcelona.

11. Agra, India

India had always intrigued me. It is such a beautiful place that is rich in history and in colorful culture. I went to India on a service trip through Help International and I had an amazing experience. Some of my trip highlights were painting a primary school, arts and crafts with children in a pediatric hospital, visiting the beautiful Taj Mahal, seeing the Agra Fort, playing with elephants, and eating the non-spicy Indian food!

12. Edinburgh, Scotland

For all of my Harry Potter nerds, like me, Edinburgh is a Hogwarts fantasy land! I loved visiting The Elephant House where J.K. Rowlings wrote the books, I loved walking through the graveyard nearby where she found inspiration for character names in, the castle at the top of the hill was definitely worth the visit, and the city itself is so beautiful to walk around in.

13. Ghent, Belgium

This dreamy place is one that should not be overlooked. Ghent is such a beautiful city and it looks like it was taken out of a story book. Some of my trip highlights were visiting the Gravensteen Castle, seeing Saint Bravo’s Cathedral, walking around Graslei, eating Belgian waffles, and seeing the cycling races.

14. Moscow, Russia

Visiting Moscow, Russia was a really special experience for me. 2 years prior to this trip I had spent a year in Novosibirsk, Russia, where I learned Russian and taught english. It was an amazing experience to go back and be surrounded by the Russian culture again. Some of my trip highlights were speaking Russian again with the locals, visiting Red Square, seeing St. Basils Cathedral, seeing a World Cup soccer game, and eating all the блины!

While we all await the time when we can safely leave our houses again, I hope you can find the time to plan your dream trip to one of my favorite destinations. We are so lucky to live in a world that has so much beauty to offer and I can’t wait to explore more of it.

xoxo
