5 Ways To Get Closer To Your Dreams Without Leaving Your House

Remember at the beginning of the year when we all said things like: “2020 is going to be my year,” or “New opportunities are coming I can feel it,” or “This is the year I’m finally going to _____.” I remember writing down a list of things I wanted to accomplish, places I wanted to travel to, and ways I wanted to push myself, but here I am in my living room self-quarantined due to COVID-19. My March 2020 is definitely not looking like what I had pictured with my new years resolutions. With all this craziness and uncertainty, my goals, passions, and dreams somehow got placed on the back burner. Here is a reminder for all of us that although the world feels like it is kind of at a standstill, your dreams don’t have to be. Here are my 5 ways to get you closer to your dreams without leaving your house.

  1. Educate Yourself:

There is more time than ever to educate yourself. There are more books out there than you can imagine, all on different topics that can give you valuable information to propel you towards your goals. If you want to build a business, there are so many resources for you to find out how. If you want to plan a trip to Europe (after this is all over of course) there are so many ways to find the best places to visit. If you want to grow your social media game, schedule a social media strategy call with me- I’m offering 50% off through March (schedule here). If you need expert advice, there are millions of people you can ask. Take the first step in educating yourself and find the courage to take the next steps towards your goals.

2. Start Setting Up a Good Routine For Yourself:

Setting up a good routine for yourself will give you a more productive day. If you fine-tune this routine while you are stuck inside, it can carry with you when you’re back to your regular schedule. I have been trying to implement a really good routine into my morning. I spend time meditating, working out, eating a healthy breakfast, reading, and seeking out spiritual edification. I’m not perfect at it yet, and I definitely don’t have it down, but I do have the extra time now to make it a consistent part of my morning and it has made a huge difference in my overall day. If you need some good guidelines for a good morning routine I recommend reading the book The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod.

3. Learn Something New:

We are all spending time trying to entertain ourselves and our loved ones with board games, puzzles, binge watching Netflix, and whatever else we can find around the house. Why not take this time to learn something that you have always wanted to learn? If you want to be a better cook, it’s time to crack open those cook books that have been sitting on the shelves. You could also learn to crochet, spend time learning a new language for your next trip to Europe, or learn to paint. There are so many new things that you can spend time doing and you can cross off a few items on your bucket list as well.

4. Self Care:

Self Care is all encompassing. It ranges from having the best skincare routine, to therapy, to meditation, to bubble baths. Wherever you feel like your self care routine is lacking you now have the time to tie up the loose ends. If you feel you need to take a bubble bath daily - do it! If you feel you need a little emotional or goal oriented push - get a life coach! There are so many personal development and self care tools that you can use, whether that is eating healthier or hiring a life coach. I am a mindset & life coach and I am offering a free coaching session to anyone who may need it during this crazy time! Find Out More HERE.

5. Support Others:

Everyone is struggling during this time, whether you are a small owner trying to make sales, someone who has been temporarily laid off, or struggling with the virus yourself. We all need to be there for each other and remind people that we care. Find time to send a text message to a friend who has just had a baby, FaceTime your sister across the country, buy your easter dress from a small business owner who could really use the sale, share people’s posts or businesses, and let people know you care.

You don’t have to press pause on the things you want. In fact, now is the perfect time to go after them. You have the time to push yourself, to educate yourself, to take care of yourself and others, and to get your ducks in a row. Do more with less! When this is all over, I hope we can all be a little closer to each other than we were before, and a little closer to our goals than we were before. If you need any help, if you need a friend, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me! Stay healthy and Safe!

xoxo
