Leveling Up With A Smile: Finding The Positives

Updated: Mar 26, 2020

Every morning we open our eyes to a new set of events, exciting news, happy moments, challenges, set-backs, accomplishments, and so much more. Our lives are ever-changing and the ups and downs are what create a life worth living. I truly believe that the ultimate self mastery, is staying positive throughout it all. Staying positive is not only important, but crucial for living a fulfilled life. I hope by the end of this post you can not only understand the need for positivity in your life, but you can have a new found desire to seek out people, events, and mindsets, that can create a life worth living.

Take Time For Your Happiness:

“Learn as quickly as you can that, so much of your happiness is in your hands, not in events or circumstances or fortune or misfortune.” -Jeffery R. Holland. I came across this quote during a really low point in my life. There was a time when waking up felt like a chore and going to sleep felt like an escape. I truly felt the heaviness of a lack of positivity and the stresses of my day to day made life a battle. It wasn’t until I understood that my happiness was my job and no one else’s that I was able to change the way that I felt. I made a conscious effort to look for the positives in my life and in every situation. I started doing things that made me happy, being around people who encouraged me, and I took my happiness into my own hands. Although I couldn’t always change my circumstance, I could change the way that I felt. Taking time for your happiness is the best way that you can change any situation, and change your life.

Learn to Level Up With A Smile:

We all get discouraged, disheartened, or distressed, but if you have positivity in your heart, you can keep in mind that you were made for more. Your positivity will carry you through those times and make the bumps in the road seem like small moments on the journey. Positivity gives you an outlook for a life worth living and challenges you to level up with a smile.

See The Change in Yourself and Help Others to Find The Change Within Themselves:

When you have positivity on your side, your life and the lives of others will change. Not only will you feel a shift in your mood, but you will feel a shift in your entire well-being. This change of heart will enable you to have the energy to go after the things that you want. Positivity gives you a hunger for life and pushes you to do the things you’ve always dreamed of. One thing that I noticed in myself was that when I was up, I wanted to lift others with me. There are people waiting for you to remind them what positivity tastes like. Imagine the people you can help with a simple mindset shift. See the change in yourself and help others to find the change within themselves.

Grief & Joy Can Coexists

Unfortunately, a lot of us fall victim to the day to day life and are miserable as a result. I am not suggesting that trials are not hard, but I am a firm believer that in order to stay positive, we must understand that grief and joy can coexist. You can grieve in whatever way you need to, but you can also be mindful of the simple happy moments, that make a tough time a little easier. “Happiness doesn’t mean that everything is perfect, it means you decided to look beyond the imperfection.” Look for the positives by looking past the imperfections.

Whatever season of life you may be in right now, remember that change is inevitable, so embrace it and enjoy what life is offering you. There are so many things that each of us are meant to accomplish and they are going to happen if you continue moving forward and remain positive. If you are in a situation where you have the choice to choose the positive, I hope you choose it every time. Your life is made up of your choices and when you learn that positivity is one of those choices, you become so much more FREE.
